A Drop of Life

Written By

Joseph McCormick

Oh joy, oh joy, the people will say,

on the day or night I come their way,

when they spy the dark so far away,

a dark that grows in which I play,

like a sea urchin surfing in the ocean spray.

Then they will gather into their shacks,

the things of feet and legs and backs,

of those that cuddle and those that quack,

to keep them safe from my attack,

which soars upon the currents track.

And then I will come at first real slow,

like a trickle of water I will flow,

until the winds begin to blow,

then batter and break I shall go,

against the land of those who sow.

But in the end I go my way,

I leave as I came in the very same way.

Forever yearning to return someday,

to play, and play, as I did today.

O Fim
