A poem in Ubi Sunt form (described following the poem) about the state of the world.
What happened to those who once cared,
to whom kindness and sympathy mattered?
The humanity we all once shared?
The selfless ones who once dared?
Compassion has been torn and tattered.

My world is no longer the same.
Yesterday? Lost to tomorrow.
Perhaps there is no one to blame
but ourselves, the ones who became
indifferent to hatred and sorrow.

Yesterday seems like forever.
Tomorrow is coming too soon.
Peace is a daunting endeavor,
but stability is now or never,
or we've savored our last honeymoon.
