Sometime running takes courage, Its not always the easy way out
You told her that was awesome
Then told me I could never
You asked me why I flinch
Then kicked me in the back

Sticks and stones break my bones.
And words will always hurt me.
You shatter my skin and soul.

Another whiskey-filled jorum
You plan to stay drunk forever
shaved away inch by inch
I can take another smack

Sticks and stones break my bones.
Words will always hurt me.
They echo, they linger, they haunt

Left with the conundrum
Bruised skin and a broken mind forever?
Or ditch, and don't let him take another inch.
If I leave, I can't come back.

Sticks and stones break my bones.
And words will always hurt me.
Sometimes, running away is the right thing.

The apologies come seldom.
I no longer want to surrender
And I'm writing it in print
I am leaving, and this is my attack
