Eight line poem
Nine wooden steps that’s all that it took
To take me away from the rest of the world.
Into my haven, my nest, my own nook,
To hide or to read read, or simply lie curled.

I fell asleep to the sound of the sheep.
I couldn’t be found or be heard from the ground.
Only the birds were aware of my presence there,
But silent I stayed so they weren’t afraid.
