A poem on human mortality.
We who are about to die,
In shadows deep where echoes sigh.
Reflect on life, the question why,
As moments pass, and time slips by.

Our hearts, they beat with fleeting grace,
In this brief and fragile space.
We journey on, a mortal race,
Towards the end, we all must face.

The wind it whispers, secrets old,
Of lives once lived, of hands once held.
In every breath, our stories told,
In memories, our spirits meld.

We who are about to die,
With every tear, a silent cry.
For love, for loss, beneath the sky,
In this shared fate, we unify.

In fields of green or desert wide,
By oceans vast, or mountainside.
We ponder life, and what’s implied,
In every moment, we confide.

We who are about to die,
Accept the end, and question why,
For love and loss, beneath the sky,
In unity, our spirits fly.

For in this life, so brief and bright,
We come to terms with endless night,
And in our hearts, we find the light,
To face our end with calm insight.

The stars above, they light our way,
As night gives in to break of day.
We who are about to die, we say,
Our mortal souls find peace today.
