Go Say Hello

“I can’t wait until this is over.”

“Are you kidding! I wish it would last all day!”

“Why? It’s boring!”

“Exactly, so we don’t have to actually pay attention. And we can walk around and pretend we are looking at the tables.”

“Looking at?”

“Are you studying the tables?...”

“No.”

“So what’s going on…”

“Look over there,” she turned toward the back.

“Is that…?”

“Yes, Ted Andrews.”

“What’s he doing here?”

“Apparently that’s his mother’s table, and he’s scouting all the other tables for her. She teaches first aid at Palmer.”

“Palmer? Does she work there?”

“No, she volunteers. She teaches first aid in the classrooms.”

“Wow. Hey, do you have a thing for Ted?”

“No! You have the thing for Ted!”

“Well, yeah… but why do you want to hang around because Ted’s here then?”

“Who is Ted’s best friend?”

“Alex.”

“And who is that?” she pointed back to Ted’s Mom’s table. There was Alex helping Ted with some boxes.

“You are amazing!”

“So, still wishing this was over?”

“I hope it lasts till next year!”

“Right, let’s go say hello!”
