Missing Spring in Oklahoma
One Saturday Night

One Saturday night
when the stars were shining bright
and the moon flowers were in full bloom,
I walked onto my Grandmother's back stoop
looked up and realized
how beautiful Oklahoma was in spring.

I inhaled the moon flowers' fragrance
and realized
nothing was as sweet
as spring in Oklahoma.

One Saturday night
when Las Vegas was shining bright
and traffic was in full boom,
I walked onto my front stoop
and realized
that I missed the stars
and spring in Oklahoma.
