Morning Walks

Look at that!”

“What?”

“That of course!”

“Where?”

“Over there!”

“The tree?”

“No next to the tree!”

“There’s another tree…”

“Not that far!”

“Next to the tree, on the ground?”

“Just look, you’ll see it!”

“Why can’t you just tell me what I’m looking for?”

“You will know when you see it!”

“Well I don’t see it and I don’t know.”

“Why are you always like this?”

“Like what? I just wanted to show you something neat.”

“Then why can’t you just say, ‘Look at that neat’ whatever… instead of always trying to make it a game.”

“I thought it would be fun.”

“I never think it’s fun because I never know what you want me to look at.”

“Fine! I won’t do that anymore!” he stomped off.

“Good!” she stomped after him.

Off, by the tree, the two white rabbits watched them go.

“I was sure they were gonna ask us for magic, and we would have had to do it!”

“I know, thank goodness for cranky people on morning walks!”

“Yeah, but let’s walk somewhere else from now on.”

“You got it Babe!” and the two white rabbits disappeared in a puff od smoke.

“Did you see that?” asked a woman near the tree.

“See what?” asked her husband.

“Never mind, it’s gone.”

“Why do you always do this to me…”
