A mountain in Maine
I have never seen you Katahdin
But I know you are there,
Guarding northern Maine
And keeping the light of
Morning’s rays safe
Until we meet.

On his last climb
My grandpa
Didn’t make it to the top,
But don’t think
You conquered him;
We forge alliances here.
