A beginning, end, and a new beginning elsewhere in the same place.
"When She Sang Songs Backwards"

Sun's declaration of Day's agenda,
when life began to play,
decked out in polka-dots,
and giddy with green laughter.
Singing small songs of her stories;
serendipity at its best.
Dancing tiny feet find fields of clover
decorated with ladybugs
and shiny wet beads
gifted by Morning's dew.
Grasshoppers challenge hopscotch,
dragonflies sit and flit to tunes
of chickadees and chipmunk chatter.
Breezes brush nearby tree leaves
sharing universal secrets whispered
into inquisitive ears.
Eyes widen with young surprises,
yet wizened beyond a tyke's typical
life-understanding, beckoning a smile.

Moon's exclamation of Night's agenda
turned the tide to a tragic say.
Black clouds gathered unceremoniously
to shroud the lunar light.
Late hours signaled a stillness
seemingly unlikely to change.
Bewildered nocturnal creatures
suddenly silenced into a darker
realm suggesting reverence
for their now aged friend.
Beloved footsteps ceased.

Where upon, Spirit began to sing songs
backwards; magic, until Sun dawned Day
declaring a different dimension for
tiny feet, polka-dots, and green giggles
dancing forward in fresh fields of clover.
