Grieving partner trying to cope
Maybe

Can they hear my wailing from six feet above?

Time has passed since I lost my dear love

Since the red water went down the drain

Hoping the event has stopped their pain

Still no understanding

Selfish as I think it is they somehow knew what they were doing

I miss them dearly

Trekking to this solemn place yearly

Life has changed and will never be the same

Never wanting to forget their name

Moving on is necessary but almost impossible

Looks along with emotions have become posable

Still not learning how to move on the social cue

The urge to join them out-weighing the desire to continue

Knees wet with morning dew

Head resting on the stone

Gun in one hand blade in the other one

I resist

Temptation insists

Eyes well up

The stone gets wet from my tear

Maybe next year my love, maybe next year
