I heard a melody the other day
As I listened I began to sway.

It was a sweet celestial tune
Beautiful as colorful flowers in June.

I took a rest from my slow stroll
While heavenly music touched my soul.

I circled around to find the sound
It was restful peace I had found.

It didn’t take me very long
To know it was some old forgotten song.

From years ago in the distant past
I had come to see my heritage at last.

My heart and soul had become strong
As I listened to some old forgotten song.
