What happened when I allowed myself to steal my dreams.
Stolen Dreams

I thought time had stolen my dreams,
leaving me with no hope for the future,
unable to make sense of anything.

I thought my past would haunt me forever,
leave me in agony over past mistakes,
inferior to those around me.

I gave up on true love finding me,
figuring I was destined to spend life alone,
a childless, cranky spinster in my old age.

One day, I finally woke up to reality;
I had stolen my own dreams,
giving up before they even had a chance.

I will no longer allow my dreams
to be taken away by my own hand,
or by anyone who wants to hurt me.

I will chase my dreams until
they have all become reality, and
are once and for all my truth.
