Your chains are broken and you are FREE-goodbye to the one in flight!

In this rain
I join in
my tears fall
faced with torrent outside
they mean so less
small,slow,salted
drops
at best wetting
my shirt collar
by edge.
These clouds gathered outside
are dark and menacing
but inside of my heart
I am weeping,
congested
and sore
thinking why
I kept you to me
thus far
freedom should have been
given to you
much ahead
so that you could be free,
happy and gay.
I am apologetic
for this delay
my magnet
kept your hemoglobin
glued to me,
while you always
made attempts
to flutter free.
Not once but
many times;it was me
who could not see that
you wanted to fly elsewhere
and that your happiness
was somewhere else
and with someone else
I am in atone
I would leave no
stones unturned
here I withdraw
all powers of my magnet
and set free you
by blood
watching the place
where you stood
I shed more tears
as I see you take off
in blue yonder
with wings
aflutter
my bleary eyes
watch your wet frame
as my bird romps home
moving to that green twig
which awaits you
with welcome
and glee.
Then my eyes
turn below
shedding all tears
till I am tearless
I look yonder
with dried eyes
and full heart
and walk
away
to my fate,
though a bit late.
And rain
it pours on
and floods
wash and drain
my tracks
till the dawn
of a new day
as the Sun cracks!
