This free verse is about the questions which arise when I think about death .
The Unanswered Questions

Why do we want to be remembered after we are gone?
Is it the eternal quest for immortality?
or
The continuation of the inborn instinct to express ourselves, to reach out to others?
Is this instinct the driving force behind all creativity?

But what would be our state of existence once we have made our exit?
Would it be a state of oblivion-everything is over as far as this world is concerned?
or
Is it another state of existence -another level of awareness
An awareness without the perception of the five senses
which cannot be comprehended by our present intellect?

Who can answer these questions?
Perhaps, those who have gone can
That is, if their existence has an awareness level
But then, how can we know the answers?
