poem from a dark time of my life
All through the day she longs for that moment
When silence and her can be together.

Society is nagging,
Pulling her in every direction.
Why is silence still so far..?

She is late to class again.
They lecture... she just doesn't care.
Why is silence still so far..?

Another long day at work.
A slow day, no people.
You would expect silence then.
She just doesn't feel it yet.

She knows it's close...
Inside and up the stairs she drags,
In the shower she only hears water.
And finally she finds her silence.

Peaceful, comfortable silence.
She lets out a breath of relief,
Thankful for her red silence.
The painful pleasure of silence.
