Why am I getting all these cards?
There is a card, just like the last card,
so now I have thirteen to show.
Plus it’s not even my birthday today,
and they’re from no one I know.

One is a Dan, another a Stan,
the latest card comes from a Joe.
I seem so popular, what can I say?
Beats isolationist woe.

Some cards are sage, some speak about age,
still others make laughs apropos.
Lined up they all form a varied array,
next to my old radio.

I say perhaps that all of these chaps
are gracious to honor me so.
Unlike an email that doesn’t need pay,
snail cards require some dough.

Could be my name has somehow found fame
which made popularity grow.
Maybe some aliens helped to give sway,
in a Hallmark UFO.

Alien life, I said to my wife,
is just an odd comment for show.
I don’t care if the Grays helped anyway,
with all my cards I will crow.
