death sentence
Death, ….. A Penalty?
Down the corridor two march in unison,
echoing in the tomb they now share,
still a calm is in the air.

What may bring to one a closure,
brings an awful pain to another .

Sounds of nervous breathing pounding throughout the air, one can almost see the last whispered prayers going up,

A steady hand holds the fasteners, ..click clack ..stings in the ear.

Faster and faster the breath is heard,
a signal given by a third.….
it's time.....
.....all eyes watch
.......
.....it's over.

In an eerie quiet that's left, a single tear rolls down through the cleft.
No words are spoken, as if all are broken.

The footsteps of one shuffle down that hallow
corridor, this time without a beat.

What was seen was it ok?
To take as he…... a life away?
