A weird poem about flowing water...and then some

The metaphorical
Water flows
Where, oh where
Does it truly go
Ridiculous I know
Why am I asking
Why am I curious
Who really even cares
Why should it matter
It’s just water
H2o
Potable madness
Used
Sometimes wasted
Insignificant at times
It does indeed seem
Because we are sure
That there is more of it
Than could ever be needed
How wrong are we
Ignoramuses
In the middle of a sea
Of soon to be nothing
The ease it which it flows
The ease in which it goes
Blinds us all to the truth
As one, not many
I guess I could plug the hole
But I have decided
That I certainly won’t
I like the idea
Escaping fears
Washing away
Pseudo relief
Cleansing some stains
Out to the sea
Out to the deep
Down to the depths
Never again to be seen
Or felt by the likes
Of those of us who suffer
Dammed is one
Dammed is all
A unified front against
Our own existence
The metaphorical
Water flows
Where does it go
Will it always be enough
Or has the amount
Been grossly undercut
Added up by fools
With the most to lose
Words eloquently spoken
Painstakingly written
This poem is about water
Not salvation
There is no chance
There never has been
Screaming of the end
Those of us who try
Cry
Those who don’t
Manage to get by
At least for a time
The metaphorical
Water flows
Where does it go
Many do not
Or simply refuse to know…
