a brief emotional poem
Thoughts drift through her mind like frozen daggers.
Scraping across her brain and driving her crazy.
When she can’t take thinking any more, she talks.
Talking until her mouth is bone dry and people block her out.
When she can’t talk anymore, she sings
Singing until her emotions are swallowed in a pool of useless words.
When she can’t sing anymore, she screams.
Screaming until her throat tears and bleeds, and people take her away.
When she can’t scream anymore, she cries.
Crying until tears cover her cheeks and stain her clothing.
Till she is surrounded by oceans and nobody can reach her.
Till blood stains the surface and she is too parched to save herself.
Till someone finally reaches out for her
And it’s too late.
When insanity engulfs the girl, there is nothing left.
Nothing but a hollow shell that was swallowed by the ocean of pain-
-long, long ago.
