Not from this world...
The balmy night
glistened from
the skyline of the
city reflecting
off the glass bay.

Barrels of logs
shot up two thousand
feet in the air, then
tenderly descended, exploding
into shards of neon feathers.

A man flew with a girl
clamped in his arms.
He leaned
into her ear, grasping
the lobe.

"Keep me forever?"
he whispered delicately as
he pulled his fingers off
and held them out.

Tears restrained her voice
as she gracefully lifted
the fingers from the palm
of his hand, and placed
them between her toes.

The lovers gazed
toward the metropolis.
Then, they plastered their eyes
on the other side to
the sparkling abyss.

There, the night
twinkled of
misty crystal bubbles
drifting off
into the distance.

The man lowered
to the bay
"Careful,"
he said, weaving
her in midair.

The girl's feet
kissed the surface,
gliding her toes
and his fingers
on the glass.

"Don't worry."
She smiled as
her hand
slumped into his palm.
"I have your fingers."
