a child in a broken family's thoughts.
Fix

I was a fix for a broken marriage that went awry
A relationship so dead, why even try?
This fix would never succeed
You should have known there was no need

You have your new family now
But I fail to understand quite how
You can be so happy and contented
When you left my family, in pain, tormented

You did this, daddy I hope you're proud
Leaving mum alone, her head always bowed
You left us for your new beloved
I wonder if she has been hit and shoved

You broke our world and left mummy to lean on me
She tried her best, but her misery was plain to see
I witnessed you hit her when I was only young
That is a thing which should never have been done

So many nights spent comforting mum
She will grow strong, but now she is numb
How can you be so cold, treating us like dirt?
We will forget and escape the shattering hurt.
