A poem written about about trials of love, and losing to the last guy left.
Dream of the Heart

When one loses Dreams
What is there Left?
Life is tugged at by the Seems
Why did you commit this Theft?

I once had a soft Dream
In the midst of a black Night
The images smoothly flowing as a Stream
And me, of course, as your Knight.

You’re sitting, desolate and Alone
In your high and mighty Tower
Your jewel encrusted golden Throne
As empty as all your Power.

Your vampire, your Dark Knight
Coming from love, heart on fire, for You
Racing against the pressing black Blight
There’s blood on my hands, evidence of all those, for you, I Slew.

At war with your jealous Guards
All your evil demons and colossal Dragons
Becoming your ever-present Vanguard
Anything to see your beautiful face Brighten.

Turning slowly Around
To face, with complete devotion, the first yet the Last
Contestant on this ancient and bloody Ground
I remember the trials and magic of our Past.

I reach to take your lovely Hand
But it just slips through my Fingers
Isn't this tragedy wonderfully Grand,
The way this all turns out, even as a Dreamer?

You begin to walk slowly away as I Watch,
My gleaming sword gradually Dropping
The pain in my heart going up a Notch
Now frozen though it was once Blazing.

I watch as his hand grips Yours
The sword turned around and pointed at my Heart
It's time to end the final War of Wars
Looking at the two of you is ripping me apart.

I look into your blue, warm Eyes
As the cold sword punches Through
And as I see you watch me Die
The last thing I see is You.
