A poem of lost love.
Shadow of lost love
By
Mona Lynn

The dream is over, a shadow left from the night.
I am in the dark, gone is my sunlight
So fleeting, so vague, no substance, just dust in the wind
No more my love, no more my best friend
My happily ever after, has come to an end
I am all alone, with no one upon to depend

My prince charming, never existed
The truth so long I resisted
My true love, was an illusion
I am left with overwhelming confusion

All the lies, the times I cried
The excuses I made
The times I prayed
But, finally the love has died

Who am I now, what does my future hold
How did I becomes so meek, I use to be so bold
Time heals all wounds I am told
Love gone from burning to ashes so cold

Now I start afresh, to begin again
Taking a gamble, hoping to win
To find my soul mate, my true love
The one that is a gift for me from above

I will walk slowly, not jump blindly in
To first learn trust, to then become friends
Take my time as my heart mends
To find happiness, to finally win
