Where have all the local pub's gone.
The Old Local Pub

Isn’t it a shame about the old local pub?
Most of them’s gone now, and the rest just sell grub.
I blame all the young ones, whose foul mouth and abuse;
has scared off the customers from the local they’d use.
I know it’s nostalgic but we all like to think,
the pubs back in our time were a good place to drink.
They would knock out a tune on that grand old Joanna;
you could pick up a pint for less than a tanner.
I remember the times down the old Cat and Kitten;
where Tom would tell stories and we’d sit round and listen.
He’d sit in the corner by the dim gas light;
puffing away on his old clay pipe.
Those memories now seem so far far away.
As the pub now stands empty, and full of decay
For the laughter and songs and happy times too,
It’s all in the mind of the dwindling few.
I’m sorry to say those days are all gone
Technology arrived and times moved on.
It will have to stay a memory those wonderful years;
for the old local pub, will soon disappear.
