A vignette (short poem) Based off of "The House on Mango street"
My name is like a rainbow, a bright light skipping around.
My name is blonde curly hair bouncing up and down.
My name is infinite smiles.
It means fairy or elfin princess.
It’s unique, it’s different: it’s totally me!

My name means spritely, it’s jumping up and down.
My name is dancing in the kitchen when no one is looking.
My name is skipping merrily to church. It’s singing in the shower.
My name is waiting for my prince to come alone with only one shoe.
My name is cleaning the house when everyone else is out having fun.
My name is magic is everywhere if you believe.
My name is true love will always find you; death can only slow it down.
My name is dancing till the clock strikes twelve.
My name was stolen by John Travolta like a bandit
My name was made into a pop icon for famous daughters
My name was given to every other little girl running down the aisles of market basket
My name is being called and scaring me
Even still I would never trade my name for anything.
