A story in poem form. My first one using this style.
The rubber band
slaps against the skin..

over
and
over

Fast... Fast... Fast..
Slow... Slow..
again
and
again

It fills the empty spaces
that luck
within the hollow room

He looks at her
across the room,
wants to tell her
to stop

But his lips,
they cannot form
the words

His stomach twists,
wiggles like a worm

He wants to scream...
to tell her
he too is in pain

nothing can quell
the raging pace

heartrate...
pace
heartrate...
pace

it plays on and on,
the noise never leaves

He draws breath in
his teeth clench,
he tires to hold it back
but it escapes

"Stop!" He screams.
"Don't you ever stop?!"

His answer is silence...
It echoes through the room

The chair across the room sits,
unoccupied,
dust clouds a window
that once welcomed sunlight,
torn curtains
stir in the slight current of air

She is no longer there,
for she is gone

All that remains
are the scars
that are now his...
