A short poem about a Lizard and a Cat. Victory, melancholy, satisfaction.
the glorifying music
of the lizard
flutters on the wind
through a curtain
into an empty room
grandfather clocks
tick tocks
to the victorious beat
and the lizard warms
itself near the flames
the music
rises in tempo
becomes sneaky
hunting
a hungry cat stalks
silence
the music becomes melancholy
and retreats out the window
slowly
a satisfied cat warms
itself near the flames
