The autopsy of a man... a man in a coma.
Living Dead

There is a girl to his left
No older than seventeen
She doesn't look it, though
There are circles under
The once vibrant eyes
And she's teared up
To the point her face is raw
Wrinkles of anxiety cross
her ever lusting mind
Hands are slightly shaking and
She hasn't eaten since she heard
And I doubt she will awhile more
I fear for her life more than my own
To be bitterly honest.

She placed a hand upon his chest
Stared into his closed eyes and
The lass merely whispered
"You know, all these years,
and i never said I loved you."
A tear rolled down her cheek
And landed on his parched lips
The salty drop rolling into
His esophagus, aching
To hack out a painful wheeze
Or simply outright choke
Alas, the salty tear from
Which came hither's lips
And unto the latter's hence
Simply burned down his throat
Taunting me the whole voyage
Until finally setting upon
The mouth of a silenced beast
Lunging to scream
As she bent over and
Leaned a lost mind unto
His bitterly silent chest
The parched lips whispered, why?
She stood there like that
Though of will or confusion
I'll never know
Alas, by and by,
She stood there
The haunted maiden
Alongside and unto
The forever receeding night.

I've never known such pain
Fully concious and aware
I rejoiced at the gift, when
The lass appeared unto my side
I had nevwer known such bliss.
Until I tried totalk
Until I tried to blink
I couldn't move
Couldn't breath
Yet I absorbed all
My mind was so frantic
Wailing unto a physical silence
Not even a million of those
Nuclear warheads, armed
And ready to go could top
My emotion, energy- Oh, no!
For these bombs were starved
Starved of the oxygen needed
In order to ignite-
Silence.
The hand disappeared
Or has it been gone?
Yet I heard the crying still-
New voices, as well!
Ma'am, they spoke
Leave, I bade you
At least take a seat
For such is the upcoming ordeal's horror
I couldn't fathom you see.
There was not a word
Alas, shuffling?
I heard her, I think
She's slowly leaving
What is this? Hands?
I couldn't focus for awhile
But I heard, finally
"My scalpel, boy!"
Clinking, clattering
Silence.
"Remember, between the ribs
Slowly now-
There you go..."
And then I felt it.
A burning line right
Down my chest-
Alas, I aawoke
Screaming with all the
Pent up energy
My eyes opened
Two stunned men
And a girl whose
Hands supported a teary eyed face-
It was warm and sticky,
Blood? My blood?
Who are these people
Whom...
Alas, the lad never finished
The question at his lips-
Silence.

The student quivered
As the corpse's eyes undialated
"Are... are they supposed to... to do that?"
Shocked, the elderly doctor shook
THe face of an astonished gaze
As the filled out the autopsy report-
Cause of death: Severed Aorta..
Silence.
