2 short poems dealing with The Troubles in Northern Ireland around 1980
Please don’t stop the Riots:

I always loved to be a PIRAte

Until I met

That girl next door

Nice face, nice booty

A real cutie

But gosh! She was an ugly Protestant inside

Love between us would have been a rising tide

Nevertheless I’d go on a hunger strike

Just to gain her love

It was too late

My beloved Kate

Went to a better place

She couldn’t handle the race

Belfast became so vast

That’s what the media told us

Anglo-Irish Agreements can go to fuck off

Prejudices cannot be erased by laws

Do ya hear the caws?

Once again problems will blaze

Which ya can’t hide behind a haze

Don’t you feel the passion ready to explode?

On Belfast’s roads

In the truest sense of the word…

Belfast is a Masochist:

People are blind

Do not leave the past behind

Is religion really worth it to fight?

Let there be light

Belfast is a masochist

Cutting himself while clenching his fist

Pretending to be a victim and a winner

Ending up as a sinner

Sacrificing his residents for success and defeat

Too late to cry for retreat

Time for trick or treat

Belfast giving razor blades out

Just to feed

The children with sorrow and doubt

Call 911

Or Belfast is gone
