A freeverse poem on depression.
Blue shades the view of eye sight from life,

As darkness fills over you.

It swells slowly with thought; building into a fortress around.

It covers you like vines of ivy on red brick walls; wrapping until there is nothing left to be seen.

Midnight strikes but you can't be heard for you are numb to the world.

An afterthought of what was but not anymore.

You wish to be whole again, to hear the beat of your heart, to feel the warmness of breath.

However you are stuck in the hole you have dug.

Blueness forever your shadow, never letting go.

Twisted like a braid, you are woven here.

Lifeless eyes staring out into the world that once was life.

Bones crush, you want to cry but can't.

No thoughts bubble in your mind anymore but serenity of blue.

Curling up, you cover yourself; shielding away the pain that fills.

Blue is what you see as eyelids fall, drifting into sleep.

You cannot get away- it is forever in you like a disease

Enrooting it's self into your insides, growing until there is no more of what once was.
