Written on a long lonely night, waiting for my fiance to come home off the night shift.
                working the late shift
I can feel the hours passing
this clock upon my wall,
keeps telling me that mornings coming
still I can't sleep at all.

I wonder what your doing?
Are you thinking of me too?
Do you feel lost like I've been feeling?
Do you miss me like I miss you?

And I know that you'll be home soon,
but forever takes too long.
Seems like days since I last held you,
Need you here where you belong.

So I'll watch the clock till morning,
Count the seconds as they pass.
Sit here patiently, just waiting,
'till I have you home at last.

When I can cling to you so tightly,
And whisper "I love you so deeply"
You pull me close and say "rest easy"
'Coz you'll always come back home to me.
