Without perfection

My flaws are the scars

Of many wrong directions

But they hold beauty

If you wish to see

Of a life of lessons

That has created me

What can I do?

Hold my thoughts close in hand

Be the friend only few can

Feelings contained within your pages

Drama unfolds without any stages

Watch over my dreams well

For you are where my life fell

What is wrong with difference?

Why does it spark fear?

Seeking individual truth

Felt in the heart



Shared with excitement

Opinions met with disapproval

Excitement now torn away

Hurt by indifference



Seen through different eyes

Reasoned with truth known

Respect freely given

But not received the same



Harsh words exchanged

Devastation left behind

High cost for truth

High cost for peace

Our souls stir

Our minds dream

Longing to catch the blur

Far as it may seem

We share so much

It is great to see

We can just be us

That sets us free

Death is but life undone

Cast your fears away

For you remain my son

Never dwell in the future

Never sorrow in the past

Live life to the fullest

Live in the now at last
