The last piece of my collection about the night.
Wake Up

Darkness comes to haunt me
Unstoppable, undeniable.
Stoic, body unresponsive
It’s all the same every day.
Treating the world like its prey
No one can escape
In this world of lingering, dying souls
I might never see the next day.

Dear Lord, I shiver and pray
As the nightly realm comes
I would be kept away?
And never get to…  day.
