I had started a series of poems for a contest. This is the first.
I am a warrior by habit, and by profession
A goddess in name and shape
I watch the stars with longing, wishing to be one
I reside far from home
In the land of the morning calm
With pain as my brother
And sorrow as my friend
I exist only in dreams
The sun has not shined its face on me
Since before I was a girl
I am a prisoner of reality
And dream of worlds unknown
