I tried to leave you on every train,
every plane,
in every city that I left.
Out with every thought
that escaped my eyes, my lips.
Every flake of skin,
every strand of hair,
every eyelash that fell from my face;
I tried to wish you away.

Every time I came,
Every body I touched,
Every exhale -
Of smoke, of air,
