I have only a vague recollection of writing this-if you've taken Ambien you understand!
Searching every dark corner inside
For the source of the pain from which I hide
Believing a dark monster is what I'll see
But I find a small child inside of me.
"Why do you torture and hurt me so?"
Her sad eyes gaze up and she whispers...
"I don't know."

"You should be resting now, in a happy place."
She looked up again, with a tear stained face
"I don't know where to go or what to do,
But if you take my hand, I'll go with you."

I took her tiny hand in mine,
And gently assured her that we'll be fine.
Evil laughter out of her did shriek
I tried to run, but was too weak.

Seething with rage, she steals my will
"Here's some water, now swallow your pills."
"Why do you torture and hurt me so?"
Her empty eyes gaze up and she whispers...
"I don't know."
