I make the world giggle and laugh
by my comic ways and make-up.
I entertain people so that they
enjoy and have a rollicking time.

I forget my own sorrow to
wipe out the tears in their eyes and
make them happy, cheerful, joyous.
I feel glad to make some moments
of their life precious and worthy
of leaving a mark in their minds.

I bring wonder in the eyes of
a child and a twinkle in the
eyes of the aged, amazing
them and filling them with awe, fun.

Alas! after getting pleased they
go but they never think of the
agony I bear and the pain
I endure.They only look at
me as mere amusement machines
that they handle roughly and use
and throw whenever possible.
They never think of befriending
me in times of acute despair
to bring a smile to my face too.
