you used to be

my hero

now you're just

a child

weak

frightened

too fragile

to help

me here

alone

confused

you were once

my friend

now you're just

the mistake

the disgrace

a decaying dream

reminder of

faded innocence

all that's left

a shell

a fragment of

what it used to be

it used to feel

i used to call you

my angel

now you're just

a puppet

no more helping

caring

expecting

you to be there

the strings

so many strings that

bind you

pull you away

tied down

you once were

my brother

now you're just

a man

wishing

wanting

needing

you back to

the days of

candyland and cartoons

to return to

everything

that matters to

me to

you

or not

you used to be

my hero

now you're simply

a memory

i can't forget

disappeared in

time of

despair

chaos

took over

for you for

me

you can't

protect      me

anymore
