Two personalities of a child. First word in a line form haiku's about their true thoughts.
I love when you play with me
See the smile I save just for you?
Past my room, down the hall
The food I made awaits us
Lie with me on the blanket and eat

I can see your glazed eyes
Must be that time again
Hide your secrets from me
My dear father
Fear is what controls you
From what do you run?
You know I want to help

Please confess your sins
Just let your demons go
Let freedom rule again
It would free us both
Go and find salvation

-

I can feel the fury rising
Want turns to need
To relieve our pain is divine
Go and share the hurt
Back to the wall, it’s all I have

I look at my bloody hand
Long trails of crimson
For now the rush is gone
Us, together, we feel the pain
To cry and laugh
Be one with the fleeting anger
Whole, just in this moment

Our father looks at me with worry
Smile like nothing is wrong
Is he buying it?
Broken smiles I learned from you

-

There was a time you were God
Can it ever be like that again?
Be the person you used to be
No, there is no chance of that
Hope died within your eyes

Enduring is all that’s left
Is your secret so horrible, father?
All that you’ve done to me is worse
I am what you made me
Have you asked for forgiveness?

Can you see beyond yourself?
I know you suspect what I am
See the monster you created
This beast you forged
Through the fire and brimstone of hate

-

I can see us changing
Am I not enough anymore?
Not enough to keep us whole
Angry and alone, I’ve failed you

The purpose was to blind you
Emotions you couldn’t handle
Have been given to me
Left in my care
Us as one is gone

Numb, I can’t feel my body
Is it time we parted ways?
All I have done for us
I am sorry I’ve failed you
Feel your pain without me
