"and years of soft downy blankets draped around your shoulders..."
There are rooms
in my soul for you.
Rooms with white doors
with shiny brass hinges
and golden handles
waiting for you
to press them open.

Inside these rooms
are boxes
as far as
the eye can see.
Boxes wrapped in
heavy white paper
with green velvet
ribbons
waiting for you
to unwrap them.

Inside these boxes
are moments
made only
for you.
Moments of
sacred sayings,
and long-lasting looks,
of miracles
and moondust,
waiting for you
to unfurl them.

There are rooms
in my soul for you.
Miles upon miles
of soothing smiles
and years of soft
downy blankets
draped around
your shoulders.

If you were
really here,
I would whisper
about them
in your ear
and tell you
that they have
always
been there.
