Sometimes life gives back
The mad, tumbling rush of life surrounds us.
Human contact a blur of noise, faces and images.
Soul-mates pass by one another, oblivious.
That small, essential contact, walled away by a multitude of strangers.
Their whole lives deprived.

The maddening rush passes bringing the despairing hush
Alone with our thoughts within the curtain of night.
The constant search for love remains with the faint glimmer of hope
Driving mercilessly at the core of our hearts.

The surge of raw emotions merely a flash,
a spark and no more.
The sought after eternal bond of love,
a myth, a Holy Grail.

The sky in our souls slowly darkens
Swallowed  by doubt and fear.
Stars of hope fading behind the fog of misplaced trust...

Then the Sun shone through,
And I was blinded by you.
