A fisherman's encounter with a still quiet morning on the water.
Dawn of Morning

Morning drenched in fog
the lazy boat drifts through the water
effecting ripples as the lure gently
bobs half in, half out of the clear sleek water.

Gulls flap quietly overhead in search of repast.
Wakes stall as the skiff glides slowly,
slowly along the glass topped water.
Amber eyes lazily skim surroundings
in the distance, mechanical life hums.

Spirit is calmed as memories fade in the fog
for new memories to burst and encapture
the heart, placing them in untouched alcoves
for future memories.

There's a small ripple in the water
as a droplet springs and releases
from the blue-green pool,
dropping quietly back down into
its own element.

Amber eyes shift to the lure
they see their morning catch,
looking eye to eye, the amber one's flick
instinctively in simultaneous connection
to the hands, which release the small creature
allowing it to glide back down into his world,
into his home.

Amber eyes look slowly to the Sky,
watching the dawn of morning,
as the fog eases off the Earth,
bringing all life
alive...in an iridescent array.
