For my friend, I want it to be perfect, so please give thoughtful criticism. Thanks. x
Deep within my clouded mind
Remains a special something
Filled with thoughts and memories
A simple glance would bring

A sweet little picture book
My childish side had drawn
Overflowing with photographs
Of times that had long gone

Of times that made us laugh in glee
Of times that made us cry
Of times that made us scream and shout
And times that made us sigh

Remember when we had each other?
When we were always side-by-side?
When we were together, all day long
With that warm feeling inside?

Remember all those times we shared?
Of happiness, fun and peace?
Remember all the jokes we had
That never seemed to cease?

Remember all those silly fights?
Those that changed my reality?
The ones that made me cry all night,
And slapped me at full brutality?

Remember how we apologized?
How it felt to end all the strife?
The sun was shining through the clouds
Illuminating my entire life

I remember everything
All the memories we ever shared
I kept them all, locked away
So when it rained, I’d be prepared

I remember your cheerful smirk
The twinkle in your eyes
Mischief inscribed upon your face
You’d brighten up the skies

I remember how you stayed with me
Through the thick and thin
And how you’d never let me fall
There with your trademark grin

I remember how you’d listen
Always the shoulder to cry on
The helping hand to pull me up
Until one day… you were gone

The joyful sun had disappeared
Dark rainclouds drifted over
Yet I clung on to the hope
Clung on to a four-leaved clover

Then one day I heard from you
I smiled a real, true smile
You said you’d be coming soon
The wait would be worthwhile

Remember that I’ll always be here
I’ll be here to be your friend
So hold on tight and don’t let go
I’ll meet you at the end
