I wrote this poem at least twenty five years ago. avatar1957
I am Caucasian white red hostility
Frigid, cold blue blood embattles and pumps through my veins

Who am I?
I am Native American scarlet red
Enflamed raging aggressive embers sets ablaze the seat of my soul

The white and red corpuscles in my blood wage war
Two enemies stand on two different camps conflicted

My white ancestors brutalized heinous acts of rape and murder administered
My red ancestors their bones crushed and sifted

Ancient ones past souls of old pillaged
Genetic memories their mangled bodies lye lifeless

Down through time
Pools of steaming hot blood violently spilled
The ancient old ones agonized cries rise
Grand Father when will vindication come?

Degradation and violence
Their disembodied spirits trapped between dimensions tormented

Vapors of oppression
Each struggles to pass on to the other side

Who am I?
My earthly father
A red masochistic social path
From his neck he hung
Suicide

Who am I?
A white society grandiose idolized
White supreme beings try to justify artocious past deeds

Who am I?
A red savage she animal
Deeply enshrouded in bondage and shame
Acculurated and assimilated
Forced to conform

Torn between two worlds
Rejected by both
I wander confused and alone

Who am I?
Am I white or am I red?
An entangled half breed
I find no peace

A prisoner of my internal wars
As an activist
I desparately try to embrace both sides
