A friend of mine was attacked and this is his story.
This happened to a friend of mine, so I wrote a poem:

Mark them so they don't come back
You have to mark them so they don't come back

Cornered in the broad daylight
Some of us thought it was too bright
Yet they came up anyway looking for a fight
Either way this wasn't right

They tripped him up and knocked him to the ground
And before had a chance to look around
His skateboard came crashing down
Upon his skull
Until his mind was dulled
And he blacked out

Then they saw what they had done
And decided to have a little more fun
They had a knife, instead of a gun
So they stabbed him 47 times
The horror can't be described in rhyme

Waking frightened and covered in blood
To deserve this what had he done?
As he breathed he felt pain in his lung
He tasted blood on his tongue

It was his own
But not anymore
Now it was on the hands of others
Who cared none about his lovers
His friends were like brothers
And now his pain had become a bother

Mark them so they don't come back
You have to mark them so they don't come back
Make up for the things you lack
By breaking someone else's back

As he lay in the hospital bed
The doctors told him he should have been dead
Yet he didn't care what they said
As his eyes still were covered in a layer of red

Recovery seemed impossible to some he knew
Yet he persisted through and through
Later that night he saw a view
through his window he wished not to remember
He thought about it long and never lost his temper

Confused about why they chose him as their target
Why him in street just outside a market?
Was he safe anymore?
He didn't want to know as the rain started to pour

Mark them so they don't come back
You have to mark them so they don't come back
Make up for the things you lack
By breaking someone else's back
This is just a simple fact
Pain is always what will bring us apart.
