poem I wrote about God saving me from myself.
The warmth of your love embraces,
Causing my heart to soar,
Your mighty works make the earth whole tremble,
Your voice is that of a lion's roar.

You call out for me,
You know me by name,
You know everything I have done,
But You love me all the same.

My name is written on the palms of your hands,
Along with the blood stains,
You have given me new life,
You have broken my chains.

Sometimes I take my eyes off of you,
Because I listen to my fear,
I struggle and almost drown,
Until I see You draw near.

You rescue me from myself,
And no matter how hard I try,
I can never get away from the promise,
Because You are Adonai.
