Bitter loneliness
What makes it so shameful?
To reach for a hand
That keeps secrets so painful
And it’s me that’s the dumb one
To go back to the unknown

You see it was there
Under the tears and shed blood
There all along
Beneath the broken heart
And the beat down love song

And lost in the mindless
Wonders and wishes
That keeps things so lifeless
Like the unwanted kisses

It’s broken and shameful
And hands hold secrets so painful
And it’s me that’s the dumb one
And go back to the unknown
It’s so hateful, but we all know
That this love thing is so old
