Good to be back.
In from the cold

In from the cold,
Dodging the sweeping
Breath from north of the lake,
Tracery shards
Of flying ice
Weave their way
Through my hair
Dissolve on my neck
Invading the warmth
Of my layered cocoon,
My buttoned sanctuary
Coated in frost.

The scented warmth
Of burning pine,
The amber glow
Against the bleak,
And shrieking dark
Outside, where all
Is sharp and white,
And countless stars
Measure their journey
In a glistening
Carpet of frosted
Field, and frozen lake.
