A distant star I do lend my gaze Despite the barrier of thick haze A curious question I send to its glint A twinkle returns as a flame from flint
I reach out with my mind and send a thought To my brother that stares back who may be distraught We are not alone, but may as well be Technology may try, but there is no guarantee
That we and our brethren may ever be together Forced to stare at each other through the haze forever I drop my gaze from the star and focus it around At the chaos we create that would better be unfound
It is better this way my brother from afar Better that we remain just a distant star For if our civilizations ever did touch We would demand your help as a crutch
To fix the problems that we already created Because reason and logic were never mated Greed and suffering would poison us all Better you simply witness mankind's fall
As an observer and nothing more Let us perish we earned this war.
